Javed Akhtar Used Crass Language When A Twitter User Called Him ‘Bigot’ And Got Trolled

Veteran writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar has many accolades to his names. He rose to fame when he collaborated with the famous scriptwriter Salim Khan and penned down some unforgettable hits in the 1970s and 1980s as the duo of Salim-Javed. The duo has delivered big hits like Zanjeer, Sholay, Deewar, Haathi Mere Saathi, Lakshya, Kabhi Na Kabhi, Prem, Don, Shaan, Kranti, Saagar, Shakti, etc. His poetry collection called Tarkash is available in Hindi and Urdu and is still popular among the audiences. In his illustrious career, he has won seven Filmfare Best Lyricist awards and received the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007.


Akhtar is also very active on social media, and never misses an opportunity to express his views about topics of social relevance that bring out the rebel in him. He often uses Twitter and gets aggressively engage with trolls who try to undermine him.


Recently, a Twitter user by the name of ‘Cockroach Masakadzas’ lashed out at him and said that despite he being an exemplary poet, he is a bigoted, vacuous buffoon.


This irked Akhtar to the core and he opted to use crass language in his reply:
