Disney’s upcoming live-action adventure flick, Pete’s Dragon is a film that is surely attention-worthy, especially after the mega success of The Jungle Book!
Here are posters of the film that has Pete and his dragon celebrating the spirit of friendship in their unusual ways.
Pete’s Dragon is about a young feral boy (who is not Mowgli) who is discovered in the jungles by a forest ranger and brought into civilization and her family to teach him the ways of man. As the ranger and her family try to find out more about Pete, the boy, they discover he had been brought up by a friend. The only issue is his friend is not a human – he is a dragon!
A couple of weeks ago, we saw the trailer and was mesmerised by the same. Sure, you will start referencing movies like How To Train Your Dragon (the dragon parts, of course), Steven Spielberg’s ET (the police running to capture the dragon), and even Disney’s mammoth hit this year, The Jungle Book (Pete’s feral existence…like we mentioned before). However, before you accuse the makers for remaking their own hit film, you need to remember that Pete’s Dragon is actually a remake of the much loved 1977 film, that ages way beyond all these films, except perhaps the previous versions of the Jungle Book.
Pete’s Dragon also involves a fine cast involving Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford, Karl Urban, Wes Bentley, and of course the kids, Oakes Fegley and Oona Lawrence.
